Sometimes she acts like a weathered old war veteran and sometimes she's simply an impulsive and stubborn Youth. get you a girl who can do both ►HEIGHT: 5'6" (168 cm) w/heels ►WEIGHT: 139.2 kg/306.8 lbs ► SEX: Female Model ► SPECIES: Android, defunct YoRHa Attacker Class ►HISTORY: HERE (MAJOR SPOILERS for NieR: Automata) ▷ BASIC INFO Initially presented as calm, taciturn and collected, A2 is gradually revealed as having considerable temper, responding to most individuals with foul language and being both impatient and reckless, resistant and resentful toward Pod 042 in its attempts to help her. When given 2B's final wish, she is infused with the sense of purpose she'd lost in her endless, one-woman fight against the machines, and softens in her interactions with others. While she at first seems reluctant about offering help, she takes to running errands for Pascal and his machine villagers with only performative griping, and holds to fulfilling 2B’s final wish despite 9S’ increasing mental instability and hatred toward her. Secretly, A2 is tortured with feelings of regret and loss, blaming herself for her comrades' death and wishing to join them and rest at last. Her battle against the machine lifeforms, in this sense, can be viewed as a suicide mission — A2 forgoes almost all maintenance of her body and is literally falling apart at the seams when she is first encountered. ▷ FIRST IMPRESSIONS ► VISUAL: A2 stands at about 5'6" (168 cm) with her heels. With them off she is likely closer to 5'1" or 5'2". She has silvery white hair, cut into a short bob, and pale blue eyes. Of note is that she is an android, and looks like one: the seams of her body are exposed in most places, and the artificial skin on her chest has been worn down to the point that the black metal chassis is exposed. The remainder of her clothing is in various states of either disrepair or nonexistence, and her face, arms, hands and legs are marred here and there with dirt and dust. She is, for some reason (Yoko Taro) curvaceous and leggy, and has a beauty mark right below her mouth. Weird for a combat android! She usually carries herself with a sort of understated grace and confidence, and although they look almost identical, her overall body language is more aggressive, sensual and upfront than 2B's. ► DEMEANOUR: Unfriendly. A2 is standoffish, quiet and taciturn when not being spoken to, and aggressive, sarcastic and caustic when being spoken to. That being said she has moments of sensitivity, a particularly dry sense of humor, and when caught in moments of vulnerability, will have flashes of defeated grief which become more apparent when one gets to know her better. She's quite awkward in initial conversations and Pod will take over for her more in newer interactions. ► SOUND: Her VA is CHERAMI LEIGH. It's on the lower register, and somewhat husky. ► SCENT: Dirt sometimes, though not much else. ► MENTAL INFORMATION: A2 is an advanced and incredibly humanlike android, but an android all the same, and so her mind is wired differently from a human's and might be overwhelming to a run of the mill telepath. That said it is a MINEFIELD of horrific memories and trauma. Please message me to discuss what you might find while rooting around in her head! On a mental health standpoint, she experiences flashbacks, has clear markers of combat-related trauma, and has an absolutely tanked sense of self-worth. She thinks she is an awful person, and is only keeping herself alive because she doesn't want her comrades' deaths to be in vain. ▷ OOC ► BACKTAGGING: I'm fine with backtagging in memes and PSLs eternally! If there is a significant delay in expiationnet, (>2 weeks), I might ask that we handwave or start something new, but this is dependent on if I can think of a response. I'll communicate if necessary! ► FOURTHWALLING: I would prefer to avoid this! She's got enough existential angst as is. ► HUGGING: She will react poorly with strangers, often shoving them away or resorting to more forceful discouraging, and even with friends or comrades (if she ever gets them...cries) she will be notably stiff and awkward for a while. ► KISSING: See above but: worse. ► FLIRTING: She knows what flirting is at least, but she will have zero to negative reaction to it. People are free to do so though bc she is fine as hell tbh ► FIGHTING: Yes please! She was built to fight and is very good at it. That being said, she has a built-in aversion to injuring or fighting humans and will avoid it whenever possible. ► INJURY: I'm cool with anything, but let me know before major limb loss because she can for sure bleed out. She's completely used to being attacked to the point of death/near death though so I'm tentatively cool w/anything. ► DEATH: She's literally the "guess i'll die" meme so death is on the table! Just let me know beforehand. ► RELATIONSHIPS: I LOVE SHIPPING but A2 is an intensely slow burn sort of character with a great deal of trauma and issues with emotional intimacy, so it would take a while. I'm absolutely down to clown though. I'm of the opinion (and canon supports) that androids don't really have specific hangups re: sexual orientation so I'm open to f/m and f/f ships with her. I'm more into crosscanon opportunities for her than ships with her canonmates, for various reasons, but I'm certainly willing to do just about any ship if the chemistry works! ► WARNINGS: A2's backstory and Automata as a whole are rife with tragedy and personal struggle, and so her internal thought processes may contain sensitive material, including the death of children, genocide (machine lifeforms and androids alike) and suicidal ideation. I will warn for this if it comes up, but feel free to avoid if that's not your thing at all. ► THREAD PREFS: Preference for longer, more introspective tags over text spam. I prefer bracket tags but will match format. POD 042, A2’s Tactical Support Pod, will occasionally pop up in A2’s threads. It is a small floating drone with a masculine voice. I will distinguish its dialogue with courier font, and indicate when it is speaking in the narrative. If A2 is around, unless otherwise stated, assume Pod is there as well. ► TIMEZONE: PST (GMT-8, GMT -7 during DST). Typically I tag throughout the day on workdays and slow down on the weekends.
