[There's the sound of her kicking at something on the ground. Probably a rock, the motion more idle than frustrated.

Some part of her recognizes that Zero is attempting to commiserate, if in a way that A2 has decided is typical of her.] ...It's not just that.

This is the first time I've been around humans. And...it's the first time in a while I've been around other YoRHa androids.

[There's a little sigh, and she sounds less petulant and more hesitant.]

[If she had something to do, to fight, to throw herself at, she wouldn't have to be left alone with her thoughts, which was always the worst thing she could think of.]

[ Zero makes a quiet sound of acknowledgement, but otherwise it's mostly silent on her end. She hadn't been expecting that honest an answer, despite being the one who asked in the first place. ]

You never thought about what you would do if you ever ran into humans and other– what'd you call them? Yooha androids?

Never thought I'd live long enough to meet humans. Never thought I'd see most of the other YoRHa androids again either. Not like this.

[It's true and said with the sort of blank dullness that she usually gave morbid information in. She never thought she'd see most of these other androids alive again, and she had not thought she and 9S would have reached any sort of understanding, even one made begrudgingly and likely at the request of 2B.]

Well, I don't know whatever the fuck most of that means– but honestly that's pretty much how it always goes when you manage to make sounds that aren't just grunting noises.

[ But to her credit, she did listen seriously. ]

[ a pause ]

[ She shrugs on the other end of the line, not at A2 can see. ]

No point in being so worked up over it. People who are supposedly geniuses spend their whole fucking lives trying to figure out the meaning of life or whatever. No way a dumbass like you is gonna' figure it out right away.

[There's a pause.

Eventually, she speaks up again, her tone thoughtful.]

[ Again, she is offended at the prospect of coming off as being helpful of all things. ]
